CAREGIVING AND MOTEHRING.
Human Dignity. “Human dignity is intimately related to how we understand the human experience,” Anne Austad and her colleagues wrote in an illuminating article on human dignity- a notion and approach that affirms that we are intrinsically worthy, regardless of external circumstances or the individual qualities of our lives.
Closely interrelated with care, through being seen, valued, and respected, it acknowledges the inner sanctity within.
As a innate quality and need, it is especially vital to honour during times of transition, and for those who are more marginalised or vulnerable.
Dignity when honoured, maybe a transformative balm—one from which we may approach ourselves and the world with grace, resilience, respect, and togetherness.
