On Pressure

Modern living, amidst the seemingly unending obligtions and responsibiliites can be accompanied by feelings of pressure.

Pressure and stress have often been conflated- stress defined by the feeling of having excessive demands placed upon us or our resources, where as pressure may arise when something significant to us feels challenged or accompanied by a sense of urgency.

Carl Rogers wrote “What is most personal is most universal”. That recognises what we perceive to be our individual struggles are more often something shared.

Acknowledging pressure, not as something to overcome, but something collective and felt -can bring with it a sense of resonance and of validation.
