General Adaption Syndrome.

Is the foundation for understanding how the body responds to stress, which is how the body and mind respond to challenges both internal and external that it faces. There are three phases.

01- The initial reaction phase where the challenge is encountered and the body and mind respond via a coordinated interaction between the hormone- immune and nervous system.

02- After the initial reaction, the body/mind remains in a state of slight vigilance as it repairs, when the challenge diminishes the body moves into complete repair and heal. If the challenge or stressor persists, then the body/mind vigilance remains and it adapts by learning to live with higher levels of stress. This may felt as irritability, frustration or poor concentration.

03- Should this continue the body then enters a phase of exhaustion. Here you can feel anxious, exhausted, depressed, withdrawn or helpless.
