HEALTH AND WELLBEING

Supporting Hormonal Health.

Hormones are our bodies chemical messages that are realeased by specialised organs within the body, such as the ovaries for females, and the testes for males. Hormones have a wide sphere of influence within the body, orchestrating menstuation and the cycles of reproduction, supporting metabolism, immune function and digestion.

Supporting hormonal health across the lifespan can orientate us towards feelings of vitality.

Estrogen and Progesterone are the two predominate hormones implicated in female reproductive health.

Progesterone is a calming hormone that facilitates mensturation and reproduction

Estrogen, is the happy hormones that stimulates mood and libido, and supports skin and bone health.

The regulation of female reproductive hormones is closely linked to the HPA- Hypothalamic Pituitary Axis, that helps the body regulate energy in relation to external demands, thus the fluctuations of our hormones are sensitive to the demands placed on us from our environment and the internal milleu of our bodies.

When demands exceed the ability of our body to keep up with them, our reproductive health maybe compromised.

Our hormones are also sustained and supported through the actions of the digestive tract, which helps to filter and produce hormones.

Supporting hormonal health can begin with

01. Cycle Awareness.

A daily self led practice to monitor the days and phases of your cycle and your lived experience, observing things such as energy levels, physical experiences such as digestion, your mental/emotional state.

02. Rest/ Relaxation to help to facilitate repair, growth and healing and minimise stress.

03. Incorporating daily proteins through diet that are the building blocks of hormones.
